History: My top songs of 2006, 2005, 2004 and 2003

So its that time of year again when I post my list of the top 30 songs for the year.  I know that this is getting kind of old and well I certainly do not listen to as much music as I did a few years ago, but all the same I think it might be nice a few years from now to have some sort of history to look back on.  This year I am doing things a little differently.  In years past I tried to come up with some sort of ranking of songs based on how important to me I thought they were, this was not only difficult, but perhaps not very accurate.  This year since Alex gave me my ipod for my birthday before last which is somewhat close to the end of the year, I decided to rank the songs based off their play count on my ipod during the last year.  Interestingly, older songs are slowly starting to infuse their way back into my top songs.  Oh and for history's sake here are my top songs of 2005, 2004 and 2003.

Well here it is, another year done. I can hardly believe how quickly the time has gone by, this year has definitely been an incredible one. So many good memories! I am so glad that I have such great friends and family to help make this life meaningful. Anyways, enough of my reflections and on with what you really care about.

This has been a pretty big year in music too and there were quite a few songs that I wasn't able to fit into the list which in another year would have been up there. Let me know what you think, obviously we are going to have different thoughts on what was memorable from the year, but I'd like to hear what songs were big to you.
